Bögl Composite Girders

Bögl composite girders meet the requirements of modern bridge construction better than almost any other system. The use of steel and concrete in a manner suited to the materials and the loads they will bear, combined with a high degree of prefabrication, makes it possible to construct bridge superstructures quickly and economically. This approach allows for the spanning of large clear spans with low weights and easily manageable installation sections, while maintaining reasonable construction heights and eliminating the need for temporary scaffolding.

The Max Bögl Group offers composite girders as comprehensive systems manufactured in-house. In the company’s own production facilities for steel construction and precast components, manufacturing is optimized for quality and process efficiency, including the associated design consultation and planning. Depending on the situation, transport to the construction site can be carried out using the company’s own vehicles, by rail, or by water. Upon request, our skilled workers can also perform the girder installation.

Our customers increasingly appreciate the benefits of this all-inclusive, worry-free package, which frees them up to tackle other construction challenges.

Steel Fabrication

Steel Fabrication

In our production facilities, steel beams with open and closed cross-sections weighing up to 130 metric tons are manufactured using state-of-the-art production technologies. Automated, CAD-based cutting systems enable cuts with the highest precision. Our certified manufacturing process enables us to work with steels up to grade S690, as well as weather-resistant structural steels that, due to their special alloy compositions, require no additional corrosion protection. Tailored quality controls at every stage of production ensure a consistently high manufacturing standard and on-time project delivery.

Corrosion Protection

In our state-of-the-art blasting and coating facility, steel structures can be permanently protected against corrosion using various coatings. Upon customer request, the application of hot-dip galvanizing provides additional protection, which extends the service life of components. This helps avoid costly renovation measures during the service life of a structure. Long Service Life Corrosion Protection The coating work is continuously monitored by our qualified personnel with KOR certification and by coating inspectors. This ensures high-quality corrosion protection for the components. All coating booths are heated and, to ensure consistently high quality, are subject to automatic temperature logging for coating documentation. Upon request, we can use coating materials with a reduced solvent content. State-of-the-art extraction systems are used to capture and filter emissions generated during production.

Precast Plant

Precast Plant

In our precast production facility, the concrete flange is added. Production is based on decades of expertise and experience in concrete technology. Our in-house concrete laboratory continuously refines concrete mixes specifically designed for composite beams. Depending on customer requirements, concrete strengths up to C100/115 can be achieved, and concrete with compositions tailored to specific projects can be used. Continuous monitoring of the manufacturing process, along with deformation control throughout the process, ensures that the highest quality standards are met. Once the composite girder is completed, drainage pipes can be installed at the factory.

Transport

Our in-house logistics company is available for the transport of composite beams up to 55 meters in length. This allows for early coordination of all transport requirements. For road transport, heavy-haul combinations with a maximum transport weight of 120 metric tons and transport combinations with a maximum transport weight of 78 metric tons can be used. A direct rail connection on the production site and a nearby landing on the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal offer additional options for efficient transport. In addition to planning, our services also include obtaining all necessary Permits and approval documents. This ensures just-in-time delivery of the composite beams to the desired location.
