Resource and Material Efficiency
Global resource consumption is steadily increasing. In addition to causing a shortage of raw materials and other materials, this also leads to higher costs. We therefore see enormous economic potential for reducing our costs by increasing resource and material efficiency. At the same time, leaner components and the elimination of unnecessary materials reduce the demand for raw materials and thus contribute to the conservation of resources. We call this principle “economic ecology.”
We see significant potential in optimizing component design within—or even beyond—the limits of Standards, using product- and project-specific considerations. In addition, the substitution of raw and materials in favor of alternatives with a lower carbon footprint plays a major role—such as reducing the cement content of our concrete through the use of other reactive concrete admixtures.
Our guiding principle is to produce lean components using as little concrete and steel as possible. Through consistent product optimization paired with process improvements based on lean principles, we are able to align our products and processes with resource-efficient, optimized industrial-style construction. In doing so, we aim to continuously reduce the consumption of valuable Materials such as concrete and steel and set standards for the future.
