On the demonstration track in Chengdu last weekend, Transport System Bögl (TSB) set a new speed record of 181 km/h for maglev trains in the low and medium speed range (medium-low speed maglev).

On the evening of April 20, 2024, Max Bögl's TSB operations team, together with its Chinese partner company Sichuan Development Maglev Technology (SDMT), succeeded in setting a new record in the field of medium and low-speed maglev trains with a speed of 181 km/h.

A significantly faster speed can be achieved on the 3.5 km test track in Chengdu, China, than on the test track in Sengenthal. Since 2021, the TSB has been completing test and demonstration runs on site in preparation for the first application routes as a public transport supplement in Chinese metropolises. In order to test the vehicle at higher speeds, a TSB operations team from Max Bögl is on site to support the Chinese partner. The system is being tested together with the license partner, including speed tests. After prepared test runs at lower speeds and adjustments to the parameters, a new target in the form of this world record was achieved with a 3-section vehicle (36 m long), exceeding the own record of 169 km/h set in 2021. The measurements were carried out on site by an independent expert and demonstrate the continuous further development of T-echnology by Max Bögl.
