Green energy for the region - New solar park supplies the Max Bögl plant in Sengenthal with renewable energy

Max Bögl begrüßt 137 neue Auszubildende und dual Studierende

The Max Bögl Group's main plant in Sengenthal has an annual electricity requirement of over 26 million kWh. In order to cover this demand sustainably with Renewables, Max Bögl built a solar park in the nearby Sengenthal district of Winnberg - directly around the wind turbine that has been in operation since 2010. The newly created hybrid power plant is directly connected to the Sengenthal site via a 5-kilometer underground cable.

The new ground-mounted solar park was connected to the power grid at the beginning of April and now generates up to 8.2 million kWh annually for the Max Bögl plant. The project managers and the Bögl family ceremoniously commissioned the plant on May 7 in the presence of project participants and political representatives. In addition to the official welcoming speeches, there was a short project presentation and a tour of the energy park for the interested guests.

"The new solar park is another important step towards the climate-neutral operation of our largest site, where our Bögl environmental concrete is also produced," said Michael Bögl, Commercial Director of the Max Bögl Group, proudly. "The Max Bögl Group is thus proving that Bögl environmental concrete is not only an important building material for the energy transition, such as for wind towers, but that this building material can also be produced in a climate-friendly and, in the long term, even climate-neutral way."

The total of 14,000 solar modules at the 36,000 m² park have an output of 7.7 megawatt peak (MWp).

The municipality of Sengenthal will also benefit from the new solar park in the form of what is known as municipal participation: The Renewables Act (EEG) stipulates that plant operators pay 0.2 cents per kilowatt hour to the municipality and can then have the amount reimbursed by the grid operators. This is intended to promote the acceptance of wind and solar plants in the municipalities and among the population. The corresponding contract was signed on May 7 by the Max Bögl Group and the municipality of Sengenthal.
