For the Max Bögl Group, this is the first major contract for SuedLink in Baden-Württemberg. The construction company is already carrying out right-of-way construction work in Bavaria. This marks the start of a very important infrastructure project for the energy transition in our state.

SuedLink underground cables are typically laid in open cable trenches, which are then backfilled. Where SuedLink crosses obstacles such as roads and bodies of water, enclosed construction methods are used. The civil engineering work now contracted includes, among other things, the excavation and backfilling of cable trenches and horizontal boreholes, joint pits and cable lay-out areas, as well as access roads and heavy-haul routes. Each construction lot spans just under 40 kilometers and covers the section from the state border with Bavaria to Bad Friedrichshall.
