During the ceremonial general meeting held on April 30, 2025, in Munich, Dipl.-Ing. Johann Bögl was elected as the new president of the Bavarian Construction Industry Association (BBIV). He succeeds Dipl.-Ing. Josef Geiger, who stepped down as president after many years of successful service to the association.
Johann Bögl is a third-generation partner and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Max Bögl Group, one of Germany’s leading family-run construction and technology companies. Johann Bögl has been actively involved in the BBIV for many years, including as a long-time vice president and as chairman of the Association for Construction Research and Vocational Training. His election as president signifies continuity, but also new momentum in a changing construction industry.
In his inaugural address, Johann Bögl emphasized:
“I would like to thank the members of the BBIV for their trust. In a time of great challenges—ranging from a shortage of skilled workers to digitalization and the demands of sustainable and industrial construction—I would like to actively shape the future of the Bavarian construction industry together with the Executive Board, the Advisory Board, and our member companies.”
The general assembly also elected two new vice presidents: Dipl.-Ing. Ewald Weber, former managing director of Kassecker GmbH & Co. KG, and Dipl.-Betriebswirtin Claudia Woite, head of commercial management at Ed. Züblin AG. Both bring many years of industry experience and a high level of professional expertise to the Executive Board.
With this new election, the Bavarian Construction Industry Association is well-positioned for the coming years, both in terms of personnel and strategy.
Ceremonial handover of office. Josef Geiger, the outgoing president, wishes Johann Bögl every success in his new role.
