The Max Bögl Group is expanding its fleet with a new Liebherr drilling rig

At Bauma 2025, Stefan Bögl, CEO of the Max Bögl Group, accepted the keys to a new drilling rig from Patricia Rüf, a member of the Board of Directors of Liebherr-International AG. With the LB 55 from Liebherr, Max Bögl is expanding its fleet with the most powerful rig in the series, which delivers impressive performance in Kelly drilling with a torque of 550 kNm and a maximum drilling diameter of 4,800 millimeters. The two companies share a long-standing and trusting partnership.
“We chose the LB 55 because of its outstanding performance. It’s versatile and can be set up and taken down quickly. It makes our day-to-day work on construction sites much easier, especially when working with large-diameter bored piles. The new machine enables us to carry out even the most challenging construction projects efficiently and reliably,” said Robert Geitner from the Special foundation engineering equipment fleet department of the Max Bögl Group.
The new drilling rig will make its debut in Munich, where it will be used to construct D 1500 cast-in-place concrete pile walls with lengths ranging from 30 to 35 meters—primarily in groundwater using the Kelly drilling method—as part of the expansion of the U5 subway line.
