The construction project includes buildings ranging from five to seven stories, as well as a neighborhood underground parking garage in the southern part of the site. The ground floors will house commercial spaces, retail stores, restaurants, and a daycare center with four preschool groups and two infant care groups. The upper floors of the buildings will house 181 apartments, 99 of which will be publicly subsidized.

Sustainability is a central component of this project. Bögl eco-concrete is being used in construction, which features an average 39 percent lower carbon footprint (kilograms of CO2 per cubic meter of concrete) compared to conventional concrete. The buildings’ green facades will be irrigated with stored rainwater; photovoltaic systems on the roofs will supplement electricity generation; and a charging infrastructure for electric cars and e-bikes will be installed. 

“With this construction project, we are creating much-needed housing for people across various income levels while simultaneously strengthening the neighborhood’s Infrastructure,” emphasized Mayor Marcus König. “An urban center is taking shape here that combines living, working, and social amenities in an exemplary way.”
