The seven-member jury chaired by Dipl.-Ing. Karl Wiebel focused on originality and creativity, innovative strength and the use of new technologies when judging the submitted objects. The Max Bögl Group won the first prize with the innovative new development of the Segment Bridge Bögl.

Jury statement:

The Bögl Segment Bridge is a new type of prefabricated construction with a high degree of prefabrication, very short construction times and no sealing or surfacing required. A characteristic feature is the clear separation of the longitudinal framework system from the longitudinal and transverse prestressed roadway slabs. The carriageway slabs, which are supported on airtight welded steel box girders and tensioned together in the pavement area by means of external prestressing, can be driven on directly and can be easily replaced. The result is a low-maintenance bridge construction which benefits from the advantages of serial prefabrication of components at the factory.
