In future, road users in Neumarkt should pay particular attention to Max Bögl heavy goods vehicles on wheels. In a pilot project, the extra-wide cars will be accompanied by newly developed vehicles.

Among other things, these can now display illuminated variable message signs to the front instead of just to the rear - thus making the use of police vehicles superfluous. In cooperation with the Neumarkt Police Inspectorate, the City of Neumarkt and the Neumarkt District Office, heavy goods vehicles of the Max Bögl Group up to 4.56 metres wide will in future travel the route between the headquarters in Sengenthal and the Neumarkt motorway junction without police escort. With illuminated traffic signs (e.g. no overtaking), the new escort vehicles warn oncoming traffic in good time so that heavy goods vehicles can safely pass through narrow spots.
