In a study in FOCUS magazine and the online platform XING the best employers of Germany were rated. The result: Max Bögl is not only the largest employer in the Upper Palatinate, it is the favourite employer in the construction industry! Regardless of the industry, the Max Bögl Group is in 19th place in Bavaria, and 66th place nationwide. FOCUS emphasizes Max Bögl's versatility, innovative strengths, and its motivating working atmosphere.

Over the course of his journey throughout the Bavarian counties, in the middle of March, Bavarian Prime Minister Horst Seehofer visited Max Bögl. The journey was part of the future "Bavaria on the move" strategy. Besides family and education, the national government is also investing in innovation.

With the assembling of the hybrid towers with the aid of self-climbing rotating tower cranes Max Bögl received the Bauma Innovation Award in the "construction method" category. Due to this innovation in the wind energy sector, the Max Bögl Group was able to win out over the numerous ideas of other companies.
Reform Commission for the construction of large projects.
Minister Dr. Peter Ramsauer has appointed Johann Bögl to the panel of experts for the construction of large projects. The commission consists of around 35 top-class experienced experts and top executives in the economy, science, public authorities and organizations. The first meeting was on 17 April 2013. The work of the commission is laid out over the legislative period. In total they have planned six meetings. The Reform Commission should put the entire construction process to the test - from the first project idea to start-up and operation.

One of the most innovative projects of the last years for Max Bögl was awarded at the end of April with the Tekla BIM Award 2013: the new biomass heating power plant of the Max Bögl Group at their headquarters in Sengenthal.

For more than three decades the Free State of Bavaria has honoured companies and projects which render outstanding services for monument conservation and the renovation of architectural monuments in Bavaria. The Max Bögl Group receives the medal for monument conservation in the middle of May for the successful renovation of the old Greißelbach railway station.
Longest road bridge in Hesse - new construction of the Schierstein bridge over the Rhine.
Over 50 years ago, the Schierstein bridge over the Rhine between Mainz und Wiesbaden was put into operation. At that time, it was built as part of the B262 for the traffic of approximately 20,000 vehicles per day. The existing bridge does not comply with the current traffic requirements of the A643 due to its partly poor structural condition. With the new development of the Schierstein Bridge from the middle of May 2013 onwards, the eye of the needle in the western Rhine-Main area should get relieved in two construction sections until 2019. The joint venture between the Max Bögl Group and Plaunen Stahl Technologie GmbH is responsible for the new construction of the 1,280 m long and 44 m broad Schierstein Bridge - the longest road bridge in Hesse.

It was a great day for all friends of the Sulztalbahn. Despite terrible weather, a lot of guests and railway lovers flocked to the 125 year-old route anniversaries in Sengenthal. Highlight of the historical event was the rides on the museum train of the Fränkischen Museums-Eisenbahn e.V. (FME). www.sulztalbahn.de
Sundsvall-Bridge in Sweden - First strands of bridge lifting above water.
To the applause of hundreds of spectators the about 117 metre-long and 35 metre-broad steel component was lifted in during the last weekend in June. They used the "Matador 3" with 1,900 tons of loading capacity, one of the most efficient floating cranes in Europe, and an in-house developed Derrick-lift-construction with two 650 tons strand-lifters on the bridgehead of the land section.

With a maximum load of 1,200 tons at a distance of 2.5 metres to the rotation axis and 202 tons, the LTM 11200-9.1 from Liebherr is the most powerful mobile telescopic crane in the world, and recently the new Platzhirsch in the fleet of the Max Bögl group.

No more detours: The railway line between Halle and Bitterfeld could be reopened at the end of June 2013 after ten months of forced closure. For the renewal of the double-tracked electrified section under high time pressure, the Bögl Slab Track System was used; a high-quality rail technology of Max Bögl.

The Minister of Employment Haderthauer immersed herself in the world of apprentices during her visit at Max Bögl. After a talk with representatives of companies and the working committee for SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT, the Minister of Employment visited the production hall for wind energy towers in Sengenthal. There she was talking with apprentices and she helped with the production of a formwork.

Official opening of the new Sinntal Bridge on 31 July with the Minister of Transport Dr. Peter Ramsauer.
After completion of the eastern bridge building in the direction towards Würzburg at the beginning of December 2012, the traffic in the direction towards Fulda could be transferred onto the new superstructure in the middle of July 2013. The Max Bögl Group was responsible for this 52 million Euro project with spans from 59 to 107 metres by order of Autobahndirektion Nordbayern.
The prefabrication part plants of the Max Bögl Group with headquarters in Sengenthal could obtain the most important individual order in the company's history. The order of about 80 million Euros includes production and supply of tubing for the Filder Tunnel in Stuttgart.
The Deutsche Bahn AG has given the order for the construction of the 5.9 kilometre long Albabstieg tunnel of the new Wendlingen - Ulm section to a joint venture under the commercial leadership of Max Bögl tunnel construction. According to Deutsche Bahn, eight joint ventures took part in the Europe-wide tender for the project. The order is 250 million Euros.
Neumarkt will get a modern multiplex cinema in the "NeuenMarkt".
The cinema leasing contract is signed. Michael Thomas, owner of Thomas Filmtheater GmbH of Bayreuth, has signed the leasing contract for a modern multiplex cinema in the "NeuenMarkt". Seven movie theatres are planned with 841 seats.
Federal Minister of the Environment Peter Altmaier visited the Max Bögl Group.
Stefan Bögl presented the hybrid tower system Max Bögl for high and efficient wind energy plants to the Federal Minister. This was followed by discussions for further tasks of the energy turnaround, feed-in remuneration as the next mile stones and targets for the support and further development of renewable energy in Germany. Finally Stefan Bögl presented the new state-of-the-art tower production in Sengenthal to the Federal Minister Altmaier and to the other guests. The Federal Minister gave more than one hour extra time than originally planned to the Max Bögl Group.

On 2 September, 96 young people are able to start their careers in our company. The Max Bögl Group offers apprenticeships for different industrial, technical or commercial professions as a dual course of studies.

ECCS Steel Design Award - At the beginning of October the Lochkov Bridge was honoured with the ECCS Steel Design Award 2013 which is offered every two years in Milan. The bridge is 461 metres long and spans the Lochkov Valley, south of Prague, at a height of 63 metres. Max Bögl Steel Engineering produced half of the 4,800 tons of construction steel for the bridge in Sengenthal and then it was assembled on site by Bögl in Krýsl. The centre field with two 57 degrees inclined pillars is the core of the 5-field steel composite bridge. Projects of 13 European countries were submitted for the award.
Logix Award 2013 for Pfenning Logistics Multi-Cube, Heddesheim.
The winner of the Logix Award 2013 is Immogate AG with its logistics centre multi-cube in Parsdorf, near Munich. The following aspects were particularly crucial in the project development: the Immogate logistics centre is a sustainable building with its construction based on economic, ecological and social sustainability criteria. Experts from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) assisted the project right from the planning and construction stage to ensure that the latest developments in sustainability were incorporated into the building.

With this modern presentation more effective customer contact in the Netherlands is possible. At the same time the legal requirement to provide certifications on the internet is met.
Lord Mayor of the City of Neumarkt Thomas Thumann has presented building permission for the new "NeuerMarkt" city quarter to Johann Bögl, shareholder of the Max Bögl Group.
European's second largest arched bridge was inaugurated.
According to the motto "Nijmegen hugs the Waal" the "De Oversteek" city bridge was opened after two and a half years of construction at the end of November. The 1,825 metre long steel bridge connects the Western and Northern districts as a new landmark in Nijmegen.
In the year 2013, 200 foundations for the Hybrid Towers System Max Bögl were produced.
