| | The city of Dresden thrived even more by one attraction. Not – as many times – in the cultural historic center, where Frauenkirche, Semperoper and Zwinger are attracting tourists with their tightly packed arrangement in a manageable space, but in the Prager Strasse. Here the new Centrum-Gallery makes Dresden‘s most important shopping mile a flourishing shopping boulevard of metropolitan dimension. The success of Dresden‘s largest sopping temple lies besides its top location in the city center in the attractive mix of retailers, international catering trade and a wide spread offering of services. Located on four levels in 120 shops, prestigious chain stores as well as also local companies provide a unique shopping experience on 52,000 square meters shopping area for the young and for the elder ones. About Euro 290 million have been invested by Multi Development, the developer, owner and operator in the excitingly arranged Shopping Mall, which creates a courageous balance between classicism and modern art by its metal facade with its honeycomb look of the seventies and its contemporary steel-glass appearance. Project and building owner have been awarded with the BREEAM certificate „Excellent“ and with the German-Netherlands Economy Award. The Max Bögl Group has been responsible for the turnkey construction of the main building of the Centrum-Gallery (construction section I). Ingenious project management, well thought-out work operations scheduling and a close cooperation of all participating companies - and departments - from special civil engineering via the prefabricated works and steel construction department up to transportation and equipment – allowed the successful completion of this large scale project in just three years of planning and construction period. |
